‘Ooh Ahh…Just a Little Bit’ and more…

So as part of my recovery, I spent yesterday ripping all my old school cd singles to mp3s so that I could toss the actual discs. Two point something gigabytes and three hours later I was done and thoroughly enjoying my random playlist of CD singles from 1995-2000.

I find it funny when you haven’t heard a song in over ten years, but you remember all the words as soon as the music starts. MMMMM bop! HAHA, ok, I won’t lie, I have heard that many times recently, but thats okay because Hanson is a legit band now, despite what everyone wants to believe.

I also love old music. Or shall I say, “old for me” music. Some of these songs took me right back to a specific time and place and good/bad memories came flooding back. It was nice to reflect and see how far I have come through music. Wow, that was a CHEESE factory statement. Sorry.

I thought maybe I could share some of my AWESOME finds. Ha. Please don’t judge, I worked at Sam Goody at the time and got many for free. Plus, remember when CD singles were 3 for $10. What a bargain!

This song brings me back to my Red Toyota Celica (89) and my friend Ev. She and I used to dance for all the passersby. Was hysterical. I miss her.

Wisdom Tooth Update

So as we read last week, I was dreading the Oral Surgeon, not because of the actual “surgery” but mainly because of the gauze. GAG!

I got to the office a few minutes early (mainly because I am very, very punctual) so that I could prepare myself for this surprisingly simple extraction. I get in the room and immediately tell the “helper” (what are oral surgeon helpers called? Nurses?) about my hatred of gauze and all the things I feel about it. I’m sure she thought I was a big wuss, so I had to play it off like it was really no big deal.

The doctor comes in with the numbing gel (that tasted like banana, weird) and puts that in my mouth before injecting the Novocaine in a few places. He announces that he’ll be back in 15 minutes. So I sit there waiting thinking, I don’t know if this is numbing me. I mean, its hard to tell since you still have feeling on your tongue. So am I feeling my tongue press my tooth or the opposite? Either way, he comes back, numbs me up some more.

The next happened in less than 2 minutes (no lie!). He puts a tool in my mouth and scrapes back and forth (I feel nothing), then the “helper” said this will be a bit of pressure, doctor shoves instrument in my mouth, pushes my head with the pressure, then says “all done.” WHAT?! That’s it? Seems hardly worth the Novocaine really.

So I get my gauze pads and prescriptions and head to get them filled, then home. I use the gauze for what seems like forever. The whole while I was thinking, this is entirely too long! But I kept going. Turns out I was doing it for too long and pulling out some of the clot, but its all good now. Back on semi solid foods and so far, 48 hours later, have had no pain and haven’t needed the Vicodin.

Good times. So thats my story and, yeah, thats it…

 

BB9 is OVER!

This was an odd season for me. At the beginning, I hated everyone in the house. I thought to myself, “how did CBS manage to get so many sluts and jerks in the house at once?” Then as the true idiots got kicked out of the house, I started liking the “game” a little bit more.  Then, after James and Sharon were kicked out of the house, I began to hate the game again and couldn’t wait for it to be over.

Tonight was the finale. The Jury asked the questions of the final two, Adam and Ryan. Adam wins BB9 with a vote of 6-1. I think the main reason Ryan lost was because of his money-hungry, obnoxious girlfriend Jen.

Adam takes home $500k (before taxing the hell out of it).

Ryan takes home $50k (before taxes).

James wins America’s vote! He takes home $25k (before taxes), most of which he is planning to “party away”.

 

 

On a side note, I think alot of reality shows suck at first, then as you get to know everyone, they get better, then they suck again when “your” people get the boot.
