everything like, such as…some random music promotion…

As you may soon find out, I am a huge music fan. My collection covers many genres and I like “finding” new artists all the time. That being said, I wanted to share some “known” musicians that I have taken a liking to as well as, once and awhile, throw in someone up-and-coming.

Gavin Degraw

I met Gavin a few years ago in Tampa when he was in concert with Matt Nathanson and Michael Tolcher. It was the best $12 I had spent that year, maybe since. He has only released one studio album and an “unplugged/stripped” version of the same. According to his myspace (www.myspace.com/gdegraw), he has a new studio album coming out this year. I am stoked!

*Side story- This morning I awoke to an email from Ticketmaster telling me that Gavin was coming into the area for a concert. I was so happy and ready to text everyone. Until I realized he will be here when I am out of town. SO DISAPPOINTED! Oh well, next time…until then enjoy.

Lady Antebellum

After being a Josh Kelley fan since the beginning, a few years ago I was cruising the web to find out that his brother, Charles Kelley was also a singer/songwriter. Picked up a few of his cds and enjoyed them immensely. Charles has decided to quit the solo thing and concentrate on a country trio act called Lady Antebellum (www.myspace.com/ladyantebellum). Great choice nonetheless! Enjoy. Debut cd comes out sometime this year.

Toby Lightman

I’ve seen Toby (www.myspace.com/tobylightman) a few times in concert, mostly with Marc Broussard (also amazing), and she puts on a great show. I first saw her after listening to her first album, Little Things. She put out a second cd, Bird on a Wire. I wish she would get a little more airplay and respect in the industry. Much deserved! Check out her version of Operator on the soundtrack for the cancelled series, Everwood

LeAnn Rimes

We all know who LeAnn Rimes (www.myspace.com/leannrimes) is. Shes back to her country roots after a quick dip in some pop and dance tracks. She has been welcomed with open arms and is doing fairly well with her co-written tracks. This song has some great lyrics and is apparently somewhat autobiographical for her. Listen carefully since this is just a live recording.

All the rest is out of my hands
I will learn to let go what I cannot change
I will learn to forgive what I cannot change
I will learn to love what I cannot change
But I will change, yeah I will change
Whatever I, whenever I can
