I’ve been missing…

Sorry for not updating lately, kinda just been doing alot of other things and SWEATING MY ASS OFF in this heat. I don’t recommend living in an old ass house (circa 1900) without central air conditioning. Especially when the landlord has just put in these super-duper double paned insulating windows. So all the heat in the house NEVER escapes. So when it goes down to 70 something at night, it is still 91 degrees in the living room.

I am happy to say that I bought a small window AC unit to put in my window and last night I slept like a Popsicle. It was great, except when I had to venture through the sauna (aka living room) to get to the bathroom. My roommate is getting an AC unit soon so maybe if we both keep our doors open, we can keep the place fairly cool. I won’t hold my breath though.

So now that we have AC units in the windows, my worrying mind comes into play. I have the unit in the window, then I have 4 pieces of wood bracing the window shut against the AC unit so that the window doesn’t shift up. In my mind, I think people will walk by the house, push in the AC unit (into my room) and thus unwedging the wood and gaining access to the apartment and free reign of all of our crap. I wonder how likely this is or if I really am worrying a bit too much.

Tonight is “homeless dig through your trash for recyclables night”. Hopefully they don’t decide they need an AC unit out of a window…
