And the Winner of American Idol 2008…

May 21, 2008 2 comments

The winner is… David COOK!

So, I want to say that I am somewhat surprised to hear COOK come out of Seacrest’s mouth tonight, but I don’t think I really am. It really was anyone’s game. Both were deserving. What I am surprised about is the fact that Archuleta had 12 million less votes than Cook.

My thoughts before and now is that Cook shouldn’t have won American Idol for his own best interests. He will most likely be forced into a “mold” and possibly put out a lame, less-artistic, less-personal album due to a contract with 19 Entertainment. Had he come in second, he would most likely have much more creative freedom and do what he wants. But we will see.

Archuleta, on the other hand, needed to win American Idol. I think he may have a tougher time doing well without the win. He doesn’t have the creativity that David Cook has to be able to pull off a “less-guided” debut album.

I wish them both the best. I’m pretty sure that I’ll enjoy both of the debut albums probably already in the works. Fingers are crossed for a Syesha album in the future too. 🙂

More about the finale when I get a chance.

American Idol – Top 2 – My Thoughts…

May 20, 2008 2 comments

Well, tonight is the night that we get to hear the cheesy winner’s song debuted. I wonder if they both will have the same song this year or if they each get their own. Hopefully the latter.

To be honest, I don’t really care who wins. It is my thought that David Cook would do better if he didn’t win. I think he might have a little more creative control. I also think that Archuleta needs to win to do well, I don’t know that he has as much pull as Clay Aiken did as runner-up. We will see tomorrow won’t we?

The following will be LIVE blogging so excuse the mess that it may be. 🙂

——-

So I guess its Sugarfoot vs. Babyface now? Haha.

Three songs. Big deal. Four hours to vote. So what?

David Archuleta Babyface will go second after winning the coin toss.

Clive Davis – Round 1

David Cook Sugarfoot – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

So far, he is very “typical” DC to me. Although his hair is better. I also noticed there is a teleprompter for tonights Idols. Maybe they should have had this the whole season. I thought his performance was good but I am never wow-ed anymore, which is fine I guess.

Randy thought it was “Hot, Baby”. Paula thinks “she has found what she is looking for.” Simon thought it was phenomenal. I think they might be drunk. 🙂

Babyface – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down (on me)

DA. I keep saying it, but this kid amazes me. I wish when I was 17 and doing some singing in high school that I had chops like his. Lots of screaming girls tonight. DA looks like he is growing up on American Idol. I think he sounds great, but once again, I am not blown away by either of the contestants left. But I am glad to see him having some fun up there.

Randy thinks it was one of the best performances of the season (“Crazy Vocals”). Paula has chills (they are multiplying). Simon thinks it was the best he has done so far. DA looks like a little girl or maybe even a stereotypical lesbian.

Songwriter’s Contest – Round 2

Cook – Dream Big

DC and his AC guitar. When it started I was worried that the song was not going anywhere. Then the chorus came along and made it more radio friendly, albeit a bit too cheesy. I think this song works well for DC, but I also think that he couldn’t give two craps about it. SCREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAM to end the song. Eh, I don’t know. It’s better than “Inside Your Heaven” or “This is my Now”.

Randy thought the vocals were good. Paula liked it. Simon thought it was a “lightweight” and he made the most of what he had. I agree that it wasn’t a “winning moment” song.

Archuleta – In this Moment

Cheesy Title. I am sure we are in for a cheesy song. He has to keep his eyes open so that he can read the teleprompter. ZZZZZ so far. The chorus sounds good vocally, but I am not sure I can get past the nauseating lyrics. I am in this moment and I might puke in this moment because this moment is making me feel like crap. Oh, sorry. I think that I am not impressed, poor DA. But then again, what does it matter what I think.

Randy thinks the song sucked but the vocals were hot. Paula thinks DA is on fire. Simon thinks DA chose the better song and declares DA the winner of round 2 (and round 1). Who will win?!

Contestants Choice – Round 3

DC – The World I Know (by Collective Soul)

I think we are in for another typical David Cook performance. Start out light and acoustic and build up so that he can scream his big vocals. Lets see…

Okay, does anyone else hear that big loud beep/bell during his performance? I don’t know if David Cook really wants to win this. I hope his brother is okay because he really seems disengaged. Oh, and I was wrong, the song never built up. But he did cry.

Randy thinks it was very good song. Paula is rambling and is an idiot. Simon thinks DC is one of the nicest, most sincere contestants Idol has had.

DC isn’t going to win (in my opinion)

DA – Imagine (by John Lennon)

Bold trying to do a song he did so well on before. I know alot of fans will be happy if they record this as a studio track on Itunes.

David Archuleta sounds great, big shock. I find this song a little boring even though its a big monumental ballad. I guess I would like to hear something fun and exciting to end the show, but that is not what DA is all about. Boring ballads please! He really should have sung the phonebook for his final song, just to see if Randy and Paula liked it.

Randy has decided that Archuleta is the best singer of the season. Paula said she is speechless, yet she is still talking. Shut up. Simon declares tonight a knockout. I would have to agree.

—–

I predict David will win. Haha. No, I think that Archuleta will win and he needs to compared to Cook. Cook will do fine either way. Best wishes to both because I won’t be voting tonight.

Um, just when I thought it was over, Ruben waddles out. So is Ruben on tonight because they didn’t want to invite him tomorrow night? To be honest, I don’t think that Ruben sounds like himself at all. Could it be that he looks bigger than he used to be.

I do enjoy the montage of videos from this season to the song “Celebrate Me Home”.

Top 3 –> Top 2 — :(

May 15, 2008 Leave a comment

Syesha Mercado has been eliminated from American Idol. Top Three! Not bad for someone who has been in the bottom two too many times to count. Not bad for the contestant that the judges never wanted to compliment. Not bad for the contestant that a majority of the viewing audience disliked. Not bad for my crush. 🙂

Syesha Mercado has come a long way and I am happy that she made it to top three against so much adversity in the American Idol public. Ha.

I fear that she might fall into the traps of a lot of the third place contestants. Shall I mention Melinda Doolittle (no album yet), Vonzell Solomon (no record deal), Nikki McKibbin (sucked), Kimberley Locke (mild success), etc. If she didn’t have that many fans voting for her, who will buy her album. Either way, my fingers are crossed.

Thanks to those who came to comfort me about my “loss”. Fortunately, I knew it was coming!

To Erica…She doesn’t suck! Get over it! just kidding.

Top 3 – American Idol – My Thoughts (Live)…

May 13, 2008 1 comment

Before going into this and after reading the song list, I think that, based on song choices only, it is Syesha’s final night. Unless one of the Davids crap it up, she is gone. 😦

Once again, blogging live and all over the place…

David Archuleta – “And So it Goes” by Billy Joel

“I was excited. It’s a really pretty song.” Ha. Come on dude.

Ballsy. He sings most of the first verse accapella folks. Here come the violins. So far this song is a SNOREFEST. I should first say that Billy Joel bores the tears out of me anyway. To be fair, David Archuleta sounds great, but very Archuleta. If that makes any sense.

Judges aren’t surprised that he did well.

Syesha Mercado – “If I Ain’t Got You” By Alicia Keys

Syesha thinks she already knows how she is gonna do it. Lets go!

She looks fantastic. I think she should always have her hair straightened and long. Another boring song so far. She wakes up a little around the chorus. I think my problem with this song is that she has sung it on TV before (The One) and I never really liked the song before when Alicia Keys did.

But, have I mentioned how cute she is? Just wondering.

Overall, the judges like it. Then she just made it totally weird, “be myself, ya know?” (awkward shot of judges).

David Cook – “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack

Roberta Flack should be an interesting choice. I think he might do it some justice. Although, usually this song bores me to tears.

The beginning seemed a bit rushed, but so far David Cook gets an A+ for this boring ditty. The shots of is mother (i think that is her) is somewhat touching. The song builds nicely to a David Cook-esque ending. I loved the last note, scream.

Wait. Was that not his mom? They showed his Dad. Okay, going back, it was her.

Randy liked it but not the style. Paula says David is her second favorite singer of that song. Simon, of course, said it was his favorite.

———–

David Archuleta – “With You” by Chris Brown

Youthful sounding song as he puts it. This is just going to be weird. Oh man, what a screw up of the lyrics. You could see the look on his face. He was making up words then realized his lines no longer rhymed. Ha. Now I can’t even concentrate because this is my favorite Chris Brown song. Around the chorus he picks it up and sounds like Archuleta again. Lets see if the judges give him crap.

Randy doesn’t think it was the right choice of song. No mention of the botched lyrics. Paula thinks it was perfect. Simon is our only hope. Simon called him a wuss (in not so many words). AND its rigged because the judges did not mention his lyric screw up. COME ON!

Syesha Mercado – “Fever”

Chair dance. If its anything like Britney Spears and her STRONGER video I’ll love it. But our acting-Syesha is back. 🙂 This song is so tough to make your own and I am sure the judges will mention that. I think she sounds good once again and is using the stage. I am trying to not talk about her looks. **zips lips**

For some reason, the end of that song reminded me of Beyonce. I think B might have done that song in a movie before.

I think the judges were told not to compliment her very much. Randy said she sounded good. Paula thought it didn’t showcase “Syesha”. Simon called her lame. I guess I have to vote like crazy again. Ha.

David Cook – “Dare You to Move” by Switchfoot

First off, I have a friend who only thinks about making out to this song and so everytime I hear it, I think of her and laugh. 🙂

So far, I do not like how David Cook has started this song out. I know that it will build at the chorus though. And, of course, as predicted, it did. I still have to go with my thought that this is not his best vocal. In fact, I don’t think I liked it that much.

Randy liked the song choice but not the performance (I agree). Paula thought it was too short (not David’s fault). Simon said it was okay.

———–

David Archuleta – “Longer” by Dan Fogelberg

Talk about old timer song. I think this song is way too old for Archuleta. Is it just me, or is this top three show boring as crap? I still find Archuleta’s vocal abilities amazing. Just think, he’s 17 now and is still growing and learning vocally. How talented will this kid be in 10 years?

That song was forgettable to me. Randy focuses on Archuleta being HOT HOT HOT. Ha. Paula thought it was lovely. Simon thinks the song was sung well, but the choice was horrible. Archuleta will be in the finals.

Syesha Mercado – “Hit Me Up” by Gia Farrell (from “Happy Feet”)

Oh, I am so scared about this song. Why this song? Huh?

Oh Hotness. Is this Syesha’s Beyonce moment? This song is so awkward. I really don’t know what to say.

Randy thought it was just okay. Paula doesn’t think its “Syesha” again and not good enough for finals. Simon liked it better than FEVER. Not a defining moment

David Cook – “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith

I really don’t like this song to begin with. I think this was Aerosmith’s first #1 song though.

This will be another David Cook formula song. Start out light…build it up…rock the end. Shocking. And… I was right. It was just alright.

Randy thought it was alright. Paula says he is in the finals. Simon says he wins the night.

I think I am bored with this season. How sad.

And now we have it…our TOP THREE

May 7, 2008 2 comments

Note: I am doing this live again…

Well, it has come to the time were we get to hear who our TOP THREE Idol contestants are.

Ryan let us know that 51 million votes were cast last night. I think that maybe 1 million of those were mine for Syesha, but who knows if these blisters are going to pay off. 🙂 Ryan clears up the thought that Randy Jackson made Syesha cry. I never thought he did. I think she really just got caught up in the moment and broke down just a little. Paula gives another shout out to Syesha. Well-deserved.

Another group number and for the first time this season, I don’t mind it. They don’t sound horrible (except for when they rush the lyrics) and kinda look like they are having a good time.

I will repeat the thought that American Idol should go back to a 30 minute results show. Next season, please?

How nerve-wracking could standing backstage be before the results are read? David Archuleta really shouldn’t talk or be interviewed. David Archuleta is safe. Not a surprise.

Idols go to Vegas. But I don’t care. Ha. I love Syesha in a dress.

David Cook is called to the stage. He is safe. Shocking! haha. Which means that Syesha and Jason are in the bottom two.

Must we always have to sit through those Ford commercials? They seriously make me nauesous.

Skipping Q&A portion. Um, except I waited too long and heard David Cook awkwardly get asked out on a date. Wow. How do you answer something like that?

Maroon 5. ZZZZZZzzz. I have seen them in concert before. SNORE! But I like the CD alot.

Bo Bice. ffwd. I just can’t really look at him. I know that is so wrong, but I don’t think I am alone with that sentiment.

Now it is time for the person to get kicked off. Reviews from last night…and…

Syesha, stop talking please. Thank You.

JASON IS GOING HOME!!!!

Syesha has made it to the top three with the Davids. Hallelujah! My votes counted!

Top 4 – Rock N Roll Hall of Fame – My Thoughts

Whoever came up with this theme was aiming to kick Syesha out this week (finally for them). It is okay though; I have resigned to the fact that she has survived as long as she could have (like James from Big Brother 9). Hope tonight is surprisingly awesome!

——–

David Cook – “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran

I hate this song if solely for the “do do do do doodododododdo” part. I don’t think David Cook tried anything new with the song. I am sure everyone will love it and it’ll be a top Itunes seller once again. It was listenable, yet screamy.

Randy thought it was okay for Cook. Paula is hungry (??). Simon thought it was good and agreed with me. 🙂

Syesha Mercado – “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner

Before seeing this, I got a text from my friend saying “Oh shit, did you see your girl rock it to Tina Turner?! I was jumping!” I can’t wait. Oh god, she is beautiful. Does she want me yet?

Was that not amazing? So much stage presence compared to everyone else! So much energy! There was not a thing I did not like about that performance. Why is it that Randy never acknowledges her awesome voice? Paula loves her too. Simon hated it. I hate him right now.

Jason Castro – “I Shot the Sheriff” by Bob Marley

The “stoner” knows a song! The hair is perfect for a Marley song, but that is really it. 🙂 It seems like he is trying to have more energy than he really has. Vocally I am not feeling it at all. I’m sure I am wrong.

Randy hated. Paula hated it too. Simon thinks it was “utterly attrocious”. I am not wrong. Can he really stay longer than Syesha with that?

David Archuleta – “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King

This is a great song, hope that David Archuleta does it justice. He sings it in his room to his dog…or something. I sometimes wish I had a dog to sing to.

I will “Stand by” my previous thoughts; I wish I could sing as effortlessly as this kid. He looks like he is starting to get used to the whole American Idol thing and enjoying himself on the stage. I guess we just need to think back to when we were all 17. I certainly couldn’t have done that.

Randy loves it. Paula admires that he opens his eyes (thanks Paula). Simon thought David struggled towards the end, but still deemed it the best so far.

David Cook – “Baba O’Reilly” by The Who

I am not familiar with The Who music, but I know this song. This song is so much better than the first one. Okay, so David Cook sounded good and all, but I felt that the song went nowhere. Maybe the arrangements are just way too short. The beginning was good and the end happened too fast; no middle ground.

Randy wasn’t really feeling it. Paula and Simon liked it enough; not much to say.

Syesha Mercado – “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke

Before seeing this, I think it could be a great, great ballad for her. I love Gavin DeGraw’s version of this; I hope this one is even better. It’s all dependent on emotion.

Once again, I am mesmerized by her beauty and talent. I really liked it because it was simple. Of course the judges hate. Paula came to tears and brought Syesha to tears. Simon agreed with Paula that she was amazing on this song and that Randy got it wrong. Judges fight. 🙂

I got a little worried when Syesha was crying and then channeled her inner Brooke White and rambled on about what the song meant to her. Ryan had to shut her up. 🙂

Jason Castro – “Mr. Tambourine Man” by Bob Dylan

Jason on the stool with his guitar = his element. And, as I write that Jason Castro FORGETS HIS WORDS and makes a mess of it! Could Syesha make it to top three?!!

I don’t have much to say about this. The judges don’t like him of course. Simon told him to pack his suitcase, which just means he will get major sympathy votes.

David Archuleta – “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley

David slows down the song like the Norah Jones version. I am curious as to why he didn’t do this one while playing the piano; maybe wanted to focus on the vocals. I think that, once again, this song sounds so effortless. Maybe when he lost his falsetto he crapped himself. HA.

Randy loves it and said “hot vocals of the night”. Paula’s favorite of David’s. Simon thinks David crushed the competition tonight. He and Syesha were my choices for the night.

Lets vote 1-866-436-5702 and 1-866-436-5706!! 🙂 Only if you love me!

Top 5 –> Top 4 PHEW!

April 30, 2008 1 comment

Ladies and Gentleman, we made it through another results night show. Hopefully the changes that they propose making next year will be to make the results night episode back to the 30 minutes. I can handle (sometimes) a group number, a song by the mentor and then the inevitable boot.

Tonight I decided to fast forward through most of the show. I did see the group number which I found to be a mess. It brought me back to High School days. It was the equivalent of a bad musical on a high school stage. We find out early in the show who the bottom two are: Syesha Mercado (not surprising) and Brooke White (also not surprising). At this point, I am hoping the 437979379 votes that I put in for Syesha have paid off.

More boring performances by Natasha Bedingfield and Neil Diamond.

Brooke White is eliminated from American Idol. To be fair she had a good run and had some good performances scattered throughout. The past few weeks have been rough and she knew it and I think she had accepted the fact that she was probably going home. I will never understand how they expect someone who just got voted off to sing their songs. Brooke had trouble with the lyrics again, but that was just fitting. 🙂

Good job Brooke White. You will still get signed and put out a great folksy album.

Top 5 – Neil Diamond Night – My Thoughts…

April 29, 2008 Leave a comment

Tonight is Neil Diamond night. I am not a huge fan of Neil Diamond, but I am comforted by the fact that I don’t have to listen to Neil Diamond sing the ten songs. So I am going into this night with an open mind besides the fact that I am worried about David Archuleta’s song choices. If Syesha can connect emotionally with “Hello Again” she may just nail tonight. 🙂 A guy can hope right?

———–

Round One:

Jason Castro – Forever in Blue Jeans

Jason makes some weird faces. I wish Jason would break out of his own mold and do something so crazy. He had another good “coffee shop” performance with this odd, odd choice of a song. I really don’t have much to say about it.

David Cook – I’m Alive

David really does need a new haircut. Was the song too low at the beginning or was that just me? Its nice he is somewhat paying homage to Neil Diamond in his performance. Also to his brother with all the AC initials on his clothes and guitars. That song was about 34 seconds long. Or it felt like it.

Brooke White – I’m a Believer

Wow. She started like crap. Does anyone think of this song as anything other than a Monkees song? I am not a huge fan of this nor am I a fan of her “deer in headlights” look. The end was the best part of the song for me. Mainly because it was over. On a side note, I realized that I have her debut cd on my computer, but I never listened to it.

David Archuleta – Sweet Caroline

Neil thinks that David A. is a prodigy. Lets see what we think about that. First is our Red Sox song! Its nice to see David look like he is having a great time on the stage. I think I might sing his version of this at my next game at Fenway Park. He honestly looks different tonight; what is it? This was the first performance I liked of the night. So far.

Syesha Mercado – Hello Again

I love watching my girlfriend, I mean Syesha. I don’t like the fact that she has an engagement ring though. Starts out awesome and beautiful. She is vocally so talented, please America, keep her in it. I cannot say a bad thing about that performance. Once again, amazing!

Are we to assume that Paula screwed up and they didn’t edit it out before airing? That was just weird. Simon was a bit too hard on everyone, except maybe Brooke.

Round Two:

Jason Castro – September Morn

Didn’t we just hear this song? Or did he sing this last week or the week before. Jason is a bit of a one trick pony. He has his teenage girl fans to thank for keeping him around. He will put out a great beachy album and I will definitely get myself a copy of that. As far as this competition goes, he’s not ready to continue. The end was a mess.

David Cook – All I Really Need is You

New guitar. I feel that David Cook has gone past the part where he grew on me. I am starting to molt and become bored again. I feel that he approaches alot of the songs the same. In a Daughtry-esque way; Matchbox 20 way; Hootie way. I don’t feel that tonight was his best night. He is safe and his Itunes sales will be high once again. Oh well. Judges loved it. Not surprising.

Brooke White – I Am…I Said

Here comes the piano! We can only hope she flubs again! Lets write on our hands shall we? Do we have LET IT BE Brooke back? This could be good for her. I actually am enjoying it. OOH, a squeak. I do have to admit, her vocal ability is really lacking. I wonder what her actual range is?

David Archuleta – America

Big song for David. Its nice to see that he is keeping his eyes open, its like a whole new David Archuleta. This song makes me want to vomit. He has such a big voice, needs some more control. I’m pretty sure he is safe and will be in David-David finale.

Syesha Mercado – Thank the Lord for the Night Time

Lets hope for something big and exciting. Going last helps (usually). Can I just mention how HOT she is? I don’t think I ever have. HAHA. She sounds fantastic once again. I just hope that people can recognize. Good praise from Paula. Simon, I hate! 1-866-idols-05 or 10. Lets do it.

Top 6 –> Top 5 Elimination

April 23, 2008 3 comments

Before the show: What is going to happen folks?! Ideally, I would like to see Brooke White leave. Or maybe even Jason Castro. Those two are vocally not ready to continue with the others. As we all know, I do not want to part with Syesha yet, but if I must, I must.

————-

I have to admit that I fast forwarded through most of tonight because I had too much television to watch.

Not surprisingly, Syesha was in bottom two. Carly joined her (kind of surprising). Ladies and gentlemen, I think my 30 (and my friends 10) votes helped keep SYESHA in the competition.

Carly Smithson is off of American Idol. It sucks when people get kicked off after a good night though. It really should have been Brooke or Jason’s night to go. But, this is how it works.

Side note: After re-watching Syesha’s repeat performance from last night, I am upset that Carly didn’t have the professionalism to shut the crap up and stop talking to Ryan. Seriously, Carly talked to Ryan through all of Syesha’s performance. The cameras even documented it. Ugh. BYE!

Anyone know what the theme is next week?

Top 6 – Andrew Lloyd Webber Night – My thoughts…

April 22, 2008 6 comments

Prior to watching: I am definitely worried about this night. My thought is that they should have done an all-encompassing Broadway night and less specific. I think ALW is dated and too old-fashioned. I hope that American doesn’t get bored with the irrelevant music of the night (oh, im so funny).

—–

Andrew Lloyd Webber scares me. I am trying to think of what animal he looks like. HELP!

It should be interesting to see if the contestants can bring “WORDS WORDS WORDS”.

——-

More to come…

Syesha Mercado — “One Rock & Roll Too Many” from Starlight Express

Syesha is so cute! I think that she wants me; not sure though. Syesha needs to BRING THE HOUSE DOWN!!!

Here goes. Holy crap, how hot is she? She has such a great voice and is so utterly comfortable on the stage. I must say that I truly enjoyed that song even though I have never heard it before. Apparently roller skating musicals are not my thing.

Randy digs. Paula loves. Simon is turned on. AMERICA needs to vote. She is my favorite! She needs the votes. I keep getting through on her line! Not good!

Jason Castro — “Memory” from Cats

Rumor has it that Jason is sick. Then he is “sick” for choosing a ridiculous song. Lets see how this pans out for Mr. Stoner.

Mr. Castro is dying slowly. I have never understood the love for this song. It frankly makes me want to vomit. Jason is talking most of the song, he has a huge fan base though, so it probably doesn’t even matter what he does. I wasn’t a fan tonight.

Randy was hating (smart man). Paula is spinning his mess into a positive. Oh, and Randy thinks he is pretty. Simon has it right so far tonight. I hated when my parents made me sing in front of people. 🙂

Brooke White — “You Must Love Me” from the film adaptation of “Evita”

It is now time for the talking horse. Vocally, she shouldn’t be on the show anymore. Andrew Lloyd Webber tells it like it is. “She has no idea what she is saying”

So, Ms White forgets her lyrics! And then, makes them starts all over again. Vote her off! Can we?!! PLEASE?!

So when she goes on. She means none of the lyrics and shakes through the whole time. Maybe the tears are from knowing she screwed up. Carole King, it is time to go home. Thank you Paula for mentioning the starting and stopping. Simon didn’t mind that she stopped. Brooke is trying not to talk to much. She must have been reading my blog.

David Archuleta — “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera

ALW tells him to open his eyes. I agree. He didn’t mention the the lip licking though.

David rearranged the song. He made Think of Me sound like a AC/Pop song. I just can’t get over how effortlessly this boy sings. I actually liked the song, but wasn’t blown away.

Randy thinks David A. is the one to beat. Paula thinks he was perfect. Simon thinks it was one of the weakest performances. Maybe it will end up David – David finale.

Carly Smithson — “Jesus Christ Superstar”

First off, SLEEVES! Secondly, DRESS! She’s listening. Now she just needs some Lucky Charms and head on back with her Irish Eyes.

Will Carly save herself finally? Why don’t I like this girls voice? I might be one of the few people in America that thinks she is “eh”. She definitely rocked it out and had a little personality in this number. I wish I could like this former flop.

Randy thinks she was good (not the best). Paula loved it with her man hands. Simon thought it was one of best of the night.

David Cook — “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera

Before watching, this could potentially be very good. Cook needs a hat. Do you think ALW likes being called LORD? I would think that would get annoying; maybe call him GOD or something.

David Cook, I am not sure what to make of you. Some of the song was really good, the other parts were eh, then the end you were rocker again. Lost? Hmmm. You will be just fine after that performance.

Judges for the most part liked him.

My thoughts for bottom three (this is too hard): Jason Castro, Brooke White, Carly Smithson (or my girl, Syesha but I am thinking positive).

I think Syesha might go home since I was able to get through so many times. I am so sad. 😦
